Video: Man airlifted after heavy truck collides with bus on UAE road
A second man was given medical assistance by ground personnel.
The air wing of Abu Dhabi police has airlifted an Asian involved in a car crash on Thursday, while the ambulatory paramedics of the Public Safety and Emergency Directorate attended to another person, who sustained injuries in the accident.
A light bus and a heavy truck had an accident on the Truck Road before Al Ajban Bridge in the direction towards Al Faya in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
Both persons have been rushed to Al Rahba hospital for further medical treatment.
Brigadier Salem bin Brak Al Dhaheiri, Director of the Peripheral Areas Traffic Department, of Abu Dhabi police's Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said the initial investigation of the accident blamed it on wrong U-turn and not adhering to lane discipline by the truck driver.
Al Dhaheiri called upon motorists and road users to take caution while being at the wheel, observe lane discipline, avoid sudden swerving, and stick to speed limit set on roads in addition to be busy on driving rather than other things that could distract drivers' attention.
